Despite only being a MacBook Air (rather than a Pro), this laptop is fast and very usable. It has a small screen, but is slim and really light - great as a travel laptop. The one issue I have with this device is that it only has 3 USBC inputs - there are no hdmi or basic USB inputs. This issue can be easily solved with USBC adapters for about $10.

The MacBook Air 13" with M2 chip (16GB RAM, 256GB storage) is an outstanding laptop. It’s incredibly fast, with smooth multitasking and excellent performance even for more demanding tasks. The Space Grey design is sleek and lightweight, making it easy to carry. The Retina display is vibrant, and battery life easily lasts throughout the day. Overall, it combines power, portability, and style—perfect for work and everyday use.

The Apple MacBook Air 13-inch is a premium ultra-portable laptop for students, professionals and everyday users who want a light, quiet and polished macOS machine. Its biggest strengths are portability, smooth day-to-day performance and long battery life in a fanless design. It is especially well suited to writing, web work and travel. The main limitation is limited internal storage compared with higher-capacity or pro-focused alternatives.
The 256GB storage capacity can feel tight if you keep large photo, video or app libraries locally, and it is less suited to specialist workflows than MacBook Pro models.
Excellent for essays, research, note-taking, video calls and campus portability; less ideal if you need lots of local storage for large specialist files.
7/10 - Strong for photo editing, design work and light media tasks, but not the best fit for heavier pro workflows or users needing more ports and storage.
9/10 - Very easy to carry thanks to its slim, lightweight design and compact 13-inch size.
9/10 - Excellent longevity for day-to-day use, with up to 18 hours of video playback under Apple testing.
5/10 - Best for users comfortable with macOS; Windows apps may require web versions, alternatives or compatibility workarounds.
A: No. On the MacBook Air with M2, the 16GB unified memory is built into the chip and is not user-upgradeable after purchase. If you keep many apps open or work with large files, choosing enough memory at checkout matters.
A: Yes, for web use, documents, study and office apps, 256GB is usually enough. It can fill faster if you keep large photo libraries, videos or games locally, so buyers with bigger media files may want external storage or a higher-capacity model.
A: It supports one external display with resolution up to 6K at 60Hz. That suits a single large monitor setup, but it is a key limitation if you want two external screens, because this model does not natively support dual-monitor output.
A: No. This model uses a fanless design, so it runs silently for web browsing, study, office work and everyday creative tasks. During long exports or heavier sustained workloads, it can slow sooner than a MacBook Pro with active cooling.
A: It includes MagSafe 3 for charging, two Thunderbolt and USB 4 ports, plus a 3.5mm headphone jack. Using MagSafe keeps both Thunderbolt ports free for accessories, which is helpful if you connect storage, a dock or an external display.
A: Yes. The 13.6-inch Liquid Retina display supports P3 wide colour, which is useful for photo work and content creation. For colour-critical edits, some users prefer to turn off True Tone so the screen does not shift warmer with ambient light.
